Agriculture Knows No Party Lines

The local/ responsibly-produced food movement tends to be viewed by many as an issue that liberals sieze upon, whereas in reality, the issues related to where our food comes from are without party line.  Outbreaks of food-borne illness resulting from massive processing plants get democrats, republicans, and independents alike; likewise obesity, diabetes, and other health problems.

Popular conservative columnist George Will recently published this article in support of practices suggested by Michael Pollan.  With any luck, this could be the start of a consensus across a wide political spectrum to make changes to our agricultural and food processing systems that are badly needed to ensure the future stability of our food supply.
